Mexican Bean Beetle Fiesta
16 in. wide x --in. high
Acrylic on Claybord
Sometimes you hit a goldmine when obtaining ideas
from reference material. This is the third painting that Pat has
produced from her photo shoot in Seattle Washington's Pike's Market.
Originally the piece was going to be verrry greeeeen, but, after working
with it for a while she decided that she liked what was happening with it
in gray tones creating a very subdued effect, so green became out of the
question for this piece.
The graying of the vegetables and
the water drops freshly sprayed on the pea pods create the feeling of
looking at an old black and white photograph, with the exception of the
red orange Mexican Bean Beetle munching away on his meal in the lower
right hand portion of the painting.
